Is there a free web hosting provider that will let me use my own nameservers (DNS) and not theirs?

User F asked:

When I try to sign up for free web hosting accounts, the first thing it does is tell me to go to my domain host and switch my DNS control to them. I want to keep my DNS where it is. Does anyone know of a free hosting service that will simply allow me to point my “A” record to a provided (shared) IP address?
